Follow-Up to original Review - FYI
This is still a great holster to protect the gun, generally NOT for concealed carry. However, the coyotes, raccoons, ground hogs and snapping turtles, mentioned in my original review, CAN hear the opening of the flap. Just as an FYI, the velcro holding the flap down on this nylon flap holster makes LOUD noise when opened (fast or slow)....

I bought this to protect the pistol...!!
I work a 100+ acre farm and always carry a pistol with me everywhere on it. Most holsters for smaller pistols are for "concealed carry" and as such are pretty minimal, and DO NOT protect the pistol, especially the rear sight. This one nearly completely covers my S&W Shield Plus 9mm. I would like it even more IF the muzzle end was CLOSED to keep dust and grass seeds out of the muzzle. I went for the belt through mount and not the clip on, to hold it securely while belted in and bouncing around on mowers and tractors. I did try and see if my S&W Shield in 45ACP would fit, but the muzzle sticks out the bottom about 1/4 inch (front sight in danger). It is NOT a quick draw holster, but the raccoons, ground hogs, coyotes and snapping turtles aren't shooting back....
